Letisha Stanton Not well, lol. When writers block hits, it hits hard. My characters will come to a complete standstill until they are ready to get back to it. During the down time I will usually outline other novels, read books that I promised I would read and write reviews. One book in particular stalemated on me for nearly two years before the tape started rolling in my head again. The important thing to remember is that your imaginary friends will eventually start talking to you again. Just be patient.
Letisha Stanton I got the idea for the Destiny series while doing research for an Indian Cultural studies class. I was writing a paper on the slave trade and relations between Native Americans and incoming slaves. I came across a flyer with the advertisement, "Why go North for Freedom when the South is Closer?" Doing research on this flyer I discovered that there were colonies at the Mexico Texas border filled with escaped slaves who wanted more escaped slaves to come south. They had started their own printing press to print and spread the flyers. From there, the concept of a Wild West town filled with Escaped Slaves was born. Facing Renegade Natives, Bounty Hunters, a harsh and unforgiving land with little to no protection from the Mexican Government, the new colonists faced a hard uphill battle.
