Jennifer L. Allen I currently have three works in progress!! One focuses on one of the characters from Our Moon, another focuses on one of the characters from Change of Heart, and the last one is something brand new that I'm having fun with.

The romance genre is what I'm comfortable with and it's what I enjoy reading. I'm familiar with it. So I kind of feel like that's my niche. I won't rule out stepping outside the genre, but I couldn't tell you what or when or where. My published works, my works in progress, and my ideas for future projects are all romance. But I'm still super new at this, so it's definitely to early to tell if one day I might write a mystery or suspense novel.
Jennifer L. Allen I move on to something else. I have been experiencing that a little bit with my Our Moon spin-off, so I just set it aside and worked on the story that was making more noise in my head. I've got several ideas for novels in my head, so if I get stumped, I'll just play around with another one of those ideas. I don't have any deadlines and I don't plan to make any promises for releases or anything like that, so I feel like I have the flexibility to do that and take my time. But if it's something minor, I might just look back at what inspired me in the first place and see if that gives me a little nudge to push passed it. The bottom line is that I want to produce good stuff for the readers, and I feel my work suffers if I try to put something together that isn't quite ready yet.
Jennifer L. Allen Being able to share something I created with people. People are starting to read Our Moon and it's a pretty cool experience. Some people even like it. I know not everyone is going to like what I put out there, but for those who do, it makes me happy that I could make them happy.
Jennifer L. Allen Just go for it. There's something for everyone out there. Have faith in yourself, work hard, and just do it.
Jennifer L. Allen I actually have two works in progress at the moment. I was working on a spin-off for my first book, but I sort of hit a wall with it. It's still happening, I just needed to let it go for a minute because I have another story in my head that is being much louder right now. It's called Change of Heart and I'm hoping to complete it and publish by the Fall. Once I get that out of my system, I'll get back to the other one. I want my books to come naturally, I don't want them to be forced, and I feel like if I work too hard on something that just isn't coming to me, the book will suffer and then the readers will suffer. I want to produce good stuff.
Jennifer L. Allen The most random things. My first book, Our Moon, was inspired by a small piece of a dream I remembered. I hear songs and they give me inspiration as well. I've got several book ideas right now based off of random snippets of things.
Jennifer L. Allen A song. I heard it on the radio and thought it would make a cool scene in a book, so I just kept working it around in my head until I had enough to get started with.
