Rochelle Renee I've always loved the works of Lucy Maud Montgomery, who was a huge influence on my early writings as a child. I'd love to travel to Green Gables in P.E.I. and have many adventures with that lovable red-headed orphan, Anne Shirley and her comrades Diana Barry and Gilbert Blythe.
Rochelle Renee Inspiration always comes in the form of a real-life MUSE. In my case, it is always the hero. Even though my books are women's fiction centered around the heroine, I always seem to get the creative "flame" burning when I meet the male figure whom I know will lead the story.

Being alive, getting out into everyday life, seems to bring that spark alive for me.
Rochelle Renee Coincidentally, I met someone on Facebook on a friend's status update who was commenting, and we ended up with a lighthearted banter that made my Saturday night. Two days later, he friend requested me, and we became friends who spoke daily. Two weeks after that, he invited me to this party he was hosting, and I figured, why not? It will get me out of the house, and stop grieving (I'd lost my soulmate June 11). Well, my motive for going to this party was to get a new story. Did I EVER get a story! The guy hosting the party inspired my latest book "COMING HOME." And there you have it! You just never know when a muse might creep up on you and bring you a whirlwind of romance or inspiration!
Rochelle Renee Currently (March 2017) I am working on two books that are in drafts. One is called MIRACLE. It's a story of a single woman living in Toronto who steps into traffic on a busy Friday night and is sent to the ICU after a hit-and-run drunk driver nearly kills her. The hero of the story witnessed the crime, and remains anonymous by covering all her bills and expenses while she is off work for months recovering. I'm stoked for this one, since it feels very powerful for me.

The other one I'm working on is called LINGER. It's the story of a woman whose fiance dies in the line of duty one night. She heads to small town Serenity, Ohio to grieve at the home of her fiance's niece, who is a nurse and Medium. Together, they try to piece together the answers to the crime. There is a love story going on here too, as the niece plays matchmaker with her brother and the heroine. Really excited to be working on these, and cannot wait to put these out this spring!
Rochelle Renee Read, read and READ!!! Take classes on creative writing. Follow blogs with tips from published writers. But most importantly, STAY TRUE to you and your VOICE. Write what you love to write. Stay familiar, and your story and characters will be authentic. NEVER GIVE UP. I've been writing since 1984, and every year my writing gets better, smoother, more polished. I've noticed the growth within my talents, and its makes me so proud. So never ever give up! Your day will come!
Rochelle Renee My favorite part of being a writer is that I can stay up late, get the candles going, have a favorite beverage and sit in my zen moment, creating the stories and characters that I LOVE. Knowing that I have this gift to share with the world, and I have the luxury of staying home and creating these rich people, settings and love stories...it warms my heart and empowers me!
Rochelle Renee What a fantastic question! My notorious, longest span of writer's block was 13 years! Then a wonderful muse came into my life and he inspired my PASSION book. It was written in seven wonderful weeks during the snowy winter of 2012. Since then, I have completed 6 novels and now working on number 7 and 8.
To deal with writer's block, I usually put my writing aside, get out into nature or a new environment (ie: travel, go to a concert, try meeting new people). This has worked wonders for me. It refreshes the creative juices and then my setting is not stagnant. Soon enough, I have met a new "muse" who inspires the hero in my novel, and Voila! A new book is birthed.
