As a sports enthusiast living in Binghamton, I follow players who developed their skills in Binghamton and then went on to make their mark in the major leagues. Over 760 big league ballplayers performed here in Binghamton before making their mark in the big leagues. Whitey Ford, Lefty Gomez, Matt Harvey, Thurman Munson, Noah Syndergaard, and David Wright all played here.

I am researching all the professional hockey and baseball players who have played in the minor leagues in Binghamton and gone on to play in the NHL and the majors, respectively, for New York City teams. The working title of the book is "From Binghamton to the Big Apple." Binghamton currently has a Double-A baseball team that is affiliated with the New York Mets and an AHL hockey team that is affiliated with the Ottawa Senators. Binghamton has hosted hockey for 44 years and has 102 years of minor league baseball under its belt!
