Real Food Real Kitchens started out as and still is a TV series on HULU that tells the story of a dish and the family and culture that bring it to life. I always say in short that Real Food Real Kitchens is all about Family, Food, Culture and History. Real Food Real Kitchens: New York is based after the show... we went in to the real kitchens of New Yorkers from all 5 boroughs that shared a traditional family recipe with us. We told there story, took their pictures, and got their recipes. The book also gives small bits of history and information on New York City.
It was a great adventure to put this book together and we met some really incredible people along the way. Everyone has a food story to tell.

Now that the Real Food Real Kitchens: New York cookbook is complete, I am working on developing ideas for the next cookbook. It will feature an entire new region of the US: new families, new recipes, and new stories. I can't wait until we start writing and producing this new book!
There is a Real Food Real Kitchens magazine coming out quarterly this year. The first issue comes out on December 8th, 2015.
