My 8-year-old son wrote this a few months ago (he was 7 at the time), so I can't take credit. I don't think he intended it to be scary either, but it's totally disturbing.
There once was a cat named Tickels. And he chased a dog to death. The end.
Is that 3 sentences? Does "the end" count? I don't think so, but yeah. Totally disturbing. Takes after his mother.

That's an easy one! I'd go to Pern and be a dragonrider. The very first writing I did that other people read was Pern fanfic. Man, that was over 20 years ago now! Don't write it anymore, but made some wonderful friends along the way.

This is a question I don't mind. It means you liked the books and want to read more ☺
I'm hard at work writing #2 for both series. I had hoped something would be out now, but it hasn't worked out. My other jobs, real life, and writer's block have interfered. Boo. The tentative date for Earthquake (Program #2) is the end of August. Rarity (LF #2) will be out in maybe February. I'm planning on writing most of the day today. As long as my car at the dealer and the dog's hurt leg don't take too much time.
I do have a 20k word new adult novella coming out as soon as it's fully edited. It'll be under a different name, which I haven't decided on yet. It's about wanting an average guy. It's called Average and will be part of a series if readers like it. I read a lot and romance is chocked full of alpha males, billionaires, and the like. This is poking a little fun at that. Once it's publish-ready, I'll post the pen name on my blog.
Thanks again for reading!!

I'm waiting for a few new books to come out, but I don't really have a list, per se. I read a lot from the "recommended for you" on KU and from instafreebie and other free book blogs. I'm waiting for the new CL Stone and Jaymin Eve/Jane Washington books. My wish list on amazon is pretty long, and I read really fast, so....

My life isn't that mysterious. I mean, I'm pretty sure we have a sock monster that lives in our clothes dryer, but other than that? The mystery of where I find time to doctor, professor, author, mother, wife, and be my own person maybe? That's a question I get a lot. I never claimed to do all of them well. And I certainly don't do all of them well at the same time. I'm neglectful of one or more when I'm giving something my all. I'd give something up, but how on earth would I ever choose?!?!?! :/

I write something else. You can't force it or it ends up stiff and awful. Or if I can't seem to write anything, I will read. Or plot. I have lots of plots. Most of which will never see the light of day, but it helps get the creative juices flowing.

It's cathartic. Keeps me sane. Helps me escape.

I think I'm still an aspiring writer. I take any and all advice. But my advice would be to take the chance. If you're impatient like me and can't be bothered to wait on traditional publishing, self publish. Just don't expect to be an overnight sensation and you won't be disappointed.

Earthquake, which is the 2nd book in The Program. I'm plotting out an alien series. It popped into my head that I wanted to do one of those. It'll be about high schoolers, as well. I'm thinking a kind of exchange program.

Tough question. Reading is a big distractor. If I don't have anything on my KU that is calling to me, I can make time to write. Or if I'm on vacation or if the kids don't have any activities. When I sit down at my laptop and don't have any distractions, I write. But what put the stories in my head? Random stuff. Dreams. Lots of dreams.

Well, I actually wrote Common before I wrote Wildfire. They're both nanowrimo books (gasp!). I was at my stepdad's house when I got the idea for Lora Fletcher. That was the working title for so long that it's almost hard for me to think of it as Common. I couldn't sleep and I got the idea and was up half the night plotting it out. It was only supposed to be one book, but I think it'll end up as 3. Wildfire... I actually saw a call for submissions for a short story anthology in a writer's group that I'm in. I didn't read the whole thing, so I started writing based on the prompt, which was a coming of age thing. Then I read that it was for a horror imprint. So I did some adjusting and it became a 3-4 book series in my brain. There are 4 short stories out in that imprint's anthologies (linked to my author page), and they're not all from Sara's POV. 3 of them are events from Wildfire.
