Goodreads asked Andrea Irving:

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Andrea Irving Well, I actually wrote Common before I wrote Wildfire. They're both nanowrimo books (gasp!). I was at my stepdad's house when I got the idea for Lora Fletcher. That was the working title for so long that it's almost hard for me to think of it as Common. I couldn't sleep and I got the idea and was up half the night plotting it out. It was only supposed to be one book, but I think it'll end up as 3. Wildfire... I actually saw a call for submissions for a short story anthology in a writer's group that I'm in. I didn't read the whole thing, so I started writing based on the prompt, which was a coming of age thing. Then I read that it was for a horror imprint. So I did some adjusting and it became a 3-4 book series in my brain. There are 4 short stories out in that imprint's anthologies (linked to my author page), and they're not all from Sara's POV. 3 of them are events from Wildfire.
