Deborah Joy It's never been a problem for me. I just grab my camera and find something else to write about. I look at it this way. There is always something to write about if you just look for it.
Deborah Joy Oh my gosh. I get to live in my pajamas. I get to look at the world with the eyes of a child. I have made so many new friends and it's just fun. If you write with your heart it isn't work at all it's your love flowing out of you onto a computer screen or in my case a legal pad.
Deborah Joy Don't be afraid to soar. I have a quote from Erma Bombeck that I live by.
"It isn't easy to show your dreams to someone else." I started a blog in March I think, debbiesjoy.blogspot.com. The single hardest thing I ever had to do was push the button. But when I finally pushed it, the relief came flooding in. I had actually written something. And the really great part, people actually read. Something I wrote. It was so exciting. I finally got up the courage to write a book. Maybe someday I'll try my hand at a novel. But for right now, the children's books are my main focus.
Deborah Joy My next book as yet untitled, but it will be published soon. Hopefully in August.
Deborah Joy By stepping outside. My husband and I went on a road trip to buy some peaches for canning and freezing. Along the way we stopped to take some photos of a creek near a rest area to use as the cover for my next book. Some of the character's in the next book live in that small community. I hate to admit it, but I would have missed the beauty if I hadn't been actively seeking it out.
Deborah Joy From my greatest gifts. My niece Maci and my Nephew Bryson. They look at the world with such wonder in their eyes. Everything is new and exciting. I try to remember what that felt like and it transports me back to when I was looking at the world through different eyes. I see things now that I would have missed before. The world around us really is a majestic and wonderful place and I've tried to re-create what they see in the micro worlds they play in.
