Hi Karis, I just started writing chapter 3 of "Flummoxed," which will be #2 in the Desires & Decisions series. In this book we get to see Olive and the Mashables graduate from 8th grade. I decided to move "Kerfuffle" back to book #3 since it takes place during high school. I update almost every day on my facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/Kristin-N-Sp...). I also delayed the release of "Plunge Into Darkness" because it is still being edited. If you want to be a beta reader for that novel, I suggest you be over 16 as it talks briefly about sexual abuse of a minor.

Well, I have had a lot of practice. I have been blogging for many years, and before that I used to keep a personal journal. I also kept a prayer journal where I would write things down in letter form to God, and then I would go back and underline the prayers that were answered. I also think it is easier to write about what God is showing you, if you have the Holy Spirit helping you understand why God is showing you things, and what He wants you to learn. Start off writing for yourself. I think that takes a lot of the pressure off. I would keep a journal. It is a great way to practice writing about God, and also to see how faithful He is to answer our prayers and provide for us over time. I hope that helps :)

The ideas for both of the series that I'm working on came from dreams.

A lot of times, I'm not inspired. The best way I have found to write is to devote a specific chunk of time to writing several days a week. If I plan ahead, I am much more likely to follow through and finish a project.

I'm working on two projects, a Youth Fiction series, called "Victor and Clara," and a Science Fiction series, yet to be named.

Practice. Write every day. I spent 3 years writing at least 3 times a week before I ever attempted my first book.

Well, it isn't a glamorous vocation like many people imagine it to be. It is a lot of hard work. But at the end of the day, you are left with something that is timeless. No matter what genre it is, a book becomes it's own living and breathing thing, separate from what you created or imagined it would become, as the reader infuses it with their life experiences and opinions.

I read something that inspires me or spend some time exercising. Usually by the time my work out is over, I've sorted out the problem that had me stuck.
