A good life is filled with mystery. If I were write a children's book, I would write about the time my best friend and I built snow tunnels and dug through ice in the middle of the street looking for the missing turquoise ring my uncle gave me. As I moved to adulthood, the mysteries became more complex with a psychological edge ala Sleeping with the Enemy. Life gives writers more mysteries than they can ever use, but it's our job to find the most interesting, the most impenetrable unknowns to turn into novels.

Music + Time. A story has to ferment for awhile until it's ready to write. I've known the plot line for the next Untouchables for several weeks, but it had to simmer awhile. Then I picked up a new to me CD by Vance Joy (he sings Riptide). I played that CD until I could sing it in my sleep. It brought the characters and the situation to life like a good musical score does to a movie. NOW, finally, I am at the point where it's time to get it on paper.

Untouchable started when I was running on the treadmill, which is part of the reason why it opens at the gym. I have a love-hate relationship with the exercise, so plotting is one way to get me through the ordeal.

The novella for Untouchable is due out in November, book 2 for Untouchable in December, and book 3 in 2017. I also have a new series that goes back to my military roots. In the Team Fear novels, I delve into our relationship with fear. I'm starting to think fear keeps us human. Only time will tell. :)
