Silvio, I'm almost always reading the source materials myself, which means the Elder Edda and Snorri Sturluson's Prose Edda. But for an introduction, with the stories reworked in more of a narrative form and some good artwork, I'd say Padraic Colum's "The Children of Odin" would be a good choice.

Absolutely! How could I refuse? Just send me a PM with the shipping address and we'll arrange things.

Raymond,
I suspect you have an outmoded and unnecessarily rude version of the T-Sql parser. What it's probably trying to say is something like, 'the variable CAT is declared but never used' or maybe 'loops that are never entered may cause the execution stack to fall idle and feel unappreciated'.

return wittyResponse ?? "You're welcome!";

Hi, Linda--thanks for the question. For me, usually the broad outlines of the plot come first, or maybe just a theme that I really want to write about. But it's only when the characters arrive--sometimes from unexpected directions, like Sean in 'The Road to Hel'--that I can flesh out the details. It's like framing a house, finding somebody who feels like moving in, and then customizing the interior in the way they like. Sort of a "Build it and they'll come" thing.

I'm working on the first book of a three-book series called Sean's Saga, about a teenage gamer who becomes a hero, although there's absolutely no way he can save the world, since thousands of prophecies guarantee that it's about to be destroyed come Ragnarok.
