Jason Wachob I think there are moments when the writing just flows through you but I also think writing is about discipline. Because my day job (CEO of mindbodygreen.com) is pretty demanding, I'd force myself to find time to write and not wait for inspiration to strike. I'd write whenever I was flying which over the course of a year really added up. Inspiration and discipline go hand-in-hand. There's a great quote about this from W. Somerset Maugham, “I write only when inspiration strikes. Fortunately it strikes every morning at nine o'clock sharp.”
Jason Wachob It all started with a blog post I wrote on my 39th birthday called "39 Life Lessons I've Learned In 39 Years." A literary agent read the post and reached out about expanding on the concept and turning it into a book. I actually didn't really agree that it was a book...but she convinced me and the rest is history :) Here's the post that inspired it: http://www.mindbodygreen.com/0-11523/...
