Alison Hart I was dealing with impermanence in my personal life (long story) and wanted to process all the experiences I've had thus far, as well as express my views/outrage/in-rage being a woman of mixed race heritage in America.

Alison Hart A novel based on my family history. It explores the trajectory of intergenerational trauma over generations. Characters include: a Native American child forced into residential schools in Maine, an Irish Immigrant who bootlegs for a living and a mixed-race alcoholic aspiring singer in the 1930's, to identify a few.
Alison Hart Find your voice and trust it, nurture it, be brave enough to sit with it and let it unfold. Self doubt is always there for me, it is just about paying attention to the process and letting myself create.
Alison Hart I take a walk, go to a dance class, ride my bike or listen to a friend. I do not force the process, it is a lot like engaging a child, you want to invite them into play not force them into it.
