Jane Palmer My inspiration to write is to share my knowledge of almost 30 years as a midwife and childbirth educator. I've had a unique career with 23 years supporting women birthing at home and in hospital.

New research on pregnancy, birth, parenting and breastfeeding inspires me to write. I love to share new knowledge.
Jane Palmer I am currently working on part two of the Preparing for Birth series of books. Preparing for Birth: Partners - for fathers, partners and birth support people. This is the companion book for Preparing for Birth: Mothers.
Jane Palmer To deal with writer's block - I go and do other random tasks. This invariably takes me to a book or website of interest and this often provides me with a clue to where I need to go with my writing.

Another way I deal with writer's block is just to unload a whole lot of words on the page - it doesn't have to make sense or even be in order. I'll then leave the work and come back to it the next day with a fresh perspective.
Jane Palmer I have a long list of books on my summer reading list. Books include:
5 love languages of children
Becoming us: The couple's guide to surviving parenthood
Vitamin K and the Newborn
Book yourself solid
Seven Sisters for Seven Days
Mindful birthing.
