Elizabeth B. Knaus I pray. As long as weather is favorable, I go for a walk or swim laps. Redirecting my focus, finding something else to do as well as a good night’s sleep helps with creativity.
Elizabeth B. Knaus Creativity—for me, it usually ties into visual art.
Elizabeth B. Knaus Go to church. Find a church that adheres to the inerrant, inspired Word of God. I attend a LCMS Christian divine worship weekly. No matter what life throws at me or what sins I commit, I always leave that place forgiven, comforted, uplifted and energized. Faith is a free gift as the Holy Spirit comes into people by hearing Scripture spoken and expounded upon by a pastor (trained in the original languages of the Bible) who has been called to teach us. Singing hymns—songs based on Bible verses—along with a group of people, helps me praise God for mercifully loving me through the sacrificial suffering, death and resurrection of His Son Jesus Christ.
Elizabeth B. Knaus I’m tweaking a “notebook” to help people jot down information about their parents, grandparents and other ancestors. It ties in with the genealogy family tree chart that I sell from my Etsy shop FreshRetroGallery.
Elizabeth B. Knaus Exploring nature and other experiences of past and present times as well as hopes and dreams. I push myself to study through devotional reading, going to church and adult Bible classes.
Elizabeth B. Knaus I’d taken my camera along on a walk to record the route I often enjoy and bring it home to share with my husband who was feeling ill. At some point, maybe a few blocks from home, 5 Miles Round Trip for Exercise and Quiet Inspiration began to evolve. I read many illustrated books when my children were young. I love the simplicity of children’s books, the ability to complete one within a few minutes, contain lessons about life and are read over and over again. I’d been thinking about another book I haven’t released yet and how to satisfy my curiosity of what it would be like to work with a company that prints books and what a picture book for adults might look like.
