Right Now I'm working on getting my first Steampunk book out. I love steampunk and have a lot of fun working on it!

It seems like just about anything can make a story form in my mind. From the topics of the day, to that book you just read and thought it should've gone a completely different direction then what it did, a photo, something you saw while walking in the park, or even a song on the radio.
For me though, inspiration seems to find me at two or three in the morning. This is when I finally leave my computer and lay my head down on the pillow to go to sleep, that all my best ideas come to me.
Then I grab my cell phone and open notes and text my ideas down so I don't forget them. (My husband gets very annoyed with me on those nights. Because sometimes when I'm really tired, I talk text... ;))
But Really inspiration is everywhere, I normally just have to slow my mind down to catch one.

Just write! Put your thoughts down, if that's only a couple words, that's still something. Then put down a couple more, then add onto it. One minute you'll have a sentence, then you'll have a paragraph, then a page, and before you know it a chapter.
I'm always amazed on how daunting it can be when you first start out on a book. But when you come to the end, at least for me, I cant believe I'm already finished and I'm on to the next one!

I'm living my dream. All those ideas that have been rattling around in my brain for all those years, now have a home on paper, and its amazing but, people love to read them!
But the most important part of all this is... I'm proud of myself and what I've accomplished and, my family is proud of me too.
That's all I need!

How do I deal with writers block...Hmmm
I know this is going to sound weird but, I clean. Yup, it's the truth. When I cant write my house sparkles, dinners on the table, my hair is done, and I even have makeup on my face.
Now, when I don't have writers block... well, just think in the completely opposite direction of what I just told you. (Yeah, that scary!)
It's amazing how scrubbing a floor can get you motivated, and give you ideas, to get back to writing!

Well, the new book I'm working on at the moment is the prequel to my Mixers books. I asked my girls what they thought about that, and they loved it... so I thought what the heck, and I just started writing it.
