A.L. Buehrer First of all, I want to warn everyone, if somebody tells you to "just write" or power your way through writer's block with pure self-discipline, take that with a pinch of salt.

Writer's block often has an identifiable cause. Sometimes you have to get out of that wordcount-obsessed productivity mindset to see it. Often, if I'm struggling to write, it's because I've lost my sense of direction and need to address plot or thematic issues I've been sweeping under the rug.

Other times, it's simply mental or physical exhaustion. You're not a writing machine. Despite what you might have heard, you don't need to put words on a page every day. Trust God's timing. You're growing as an artist and as a human. You can't expect the same performance from yourself 365 days every year.
A.L. Buehrer Occasionally, but I try to avoid it. We don't agree on much, and you're really not very funny. Sorry.

A.L. Buehrer Finish your book. Your first book does not need to be perfect. It's not going to be perfect no matter how many times you rewrite the first chapter. A finished book is the difference between a writer and an aspiring writer. And you can do it!
A.L. Buehrer It's hard for me to imagine life as a non-writer. I'm really not sure what I would do with my hyperactive mind if I didn't have such a massive creative outlet. Writing is an extremely complex mental activity that requires you to construct, populate, and sustain a whole world from your imagination. It's a great game. The whole experience is amazing for me.
A.L. Buehrer I'm excited to be starting a new Christian dystopian series. I am preparing to launch the first book this Fall. So far, I'm really enjoying writing it. The theme and world-building are challenging and I'm obsessively dreaming up plot twists. I'm having a great time and can't wait to share it with the world.
A.L. Buehrer Webster: dystopia-state in which the condition of life is extremely bad as from deprivation or oppression or terror. Antonyms: utopia-ideally perfect state; especially in its social and political and moral aspects.
A.L. Buehrer Thanks! I picked the images, and requested some things as far as font style and placement, but the technical stuff was handled by a design team. I particularly like how "End of the Saros" turned out.
In the future, I'll definitely be doing my cover design independently. I love cover design almost as much as writing.
