Three exact and very precise happenings must occur in conjunction for the conditions for a new release to be possible
1. the year must be the year of release
2. the day must be the day of release
3. time should stop being soon (tricky one this)
The answer, providing all of the above somehow come into being, is....
soon
:)

Hi Michael,
Thanks for your question and for reading Rusticles. All the locations of Hilligoss are an amalgam of how I remember the landscapes I grew up with and an imagined extension of them. Breakneck Hill, as featured in Rusticles, is a real place and where I used to catch the bus to and from college everyday. There is a lot of folklore associated with it, starting with the name and its rumoured historical connection as the spot of a gallows.

? It's true? I'm sorry? It will be available for public judgement and scrutiny all too soon?

When writing anemogram I had no reason to think I'd release it at all so any readers I've found have been a surprise :) Thanks so much for your interest in my short stories - very much appreciated!

Hi Martie :) I'm starting to get my book to people who appreciate it, which is incredibly surprising, and all I ever wanted for it really. Thanks for your question. I'll have a collection of short stories out later in the year.

This answer contains spoilers…
(view spoiler)[I grabbed Quetzalcoatl for a brunch brainstorm behind a ruby-eyed trashcan to deliberate on this very matter last Thursday. Genuflecting permanently he proceeded to float us down river, waving a blind man’s cane at points of his interest. “Oh, my possum,” he spat, presuming the creature too much. Beady death everywhere. One, two, three, and he came up for air from the new Elon Musk Barbie. The only mystery why I parachuted in to this shitshow. (hide spoiler)]

Hey Martie,
Great to hear from you. I've spent most of this year concentrating on writing. There will definitely be something new from me next year, hopefully in the early months. Thanks so much for your question!

Hey Martie. Great to hear from you and I'm glad your reviewing activities are going well.
Great question! My only experience of 60s adolescence being secondhand it's difficult to assess how things may have changed. Coming directly after the 50s era of the teenager, the optimistic and counter cultural atmosphere of the time does appear in retrospect to be especially conducive to the flowering of the feminine experience of adolescence. Being a Generation Xer there was emphasis in my teenage years on the more alienating aspects of adolescence. I suspect that the experience of adolescence changes very little but the cultural climate of the time can perhaps influence how we view it in retrospect.
Thank you so much for enquiring about any upcoming releases I may have. I hope to compile a collection of short stories at some point, and I do have another novel floating around but I'm unsure if I will release it or not at this stage.
Hope all is well Martie, and look forward to more reviews from you!

What? No. No no no. That would imply that I'd had some grand scheme to infect GR subliminally with gnomes right from the start. And of course I don't believe in any of that astrology nonsense so the ram has nothing whatsoever to do with me being an Aries.

Thanks Jason. Your copy of anemogram is on its way :)

Hello Segilola and thank you for the question. I'm still very much finding my way myself! Targeting book review blogs with a history of interest in similar books is a good tactic. Social media is important but can be time consuming. I've found running giveaways a positive way to get some exposure for my book, and Goodreads is very helpful with this. Good luck with finding an audience for your book!

It was chosen for me by a random word generator. Out of frustration with myself at not being able to come up with anything I turned to that in desperation. And it fit perfectly! It means "a record of the pressure or velocity of the wind, automatically marked by an anemograph". I'll put a link to my blog which shows an example:

One of the key incidences in anemogram is the coming of the transformative wind on Hilligoss Mount, and it also reflects the emotional tone of the story as I saw it.

Hiya Jason,
Thanks for the question! But no, there will not be a sequel to anemogram. I don't think I can see myself writing anything but stand-alone material at the moment. Although, anemogram is set around and about the fictional world I've created that is centred on a place called Hilligoss. I've got quite a few short stories that take place in this world and at least one minor character from anemogram makes another appearance. I got the name from the actress Candace Hilligoss who starred in the old chiller Carnival of Souls which was a big influence on David Lynch.
