I don't think I've ever experienced a total block per se, because early on in my writing I learnt to always stop at a point mid-way through an incident or when something was happening. That meant when I resumed writing I always had a starting point - finishing off what had already been started. If in real difficulty as to how to move an issue forward, I allow my characters to take over and see where they lead me - sometimes into a real mess, which is good, because then there is something to sort out, which is much better than a blank screen or piece of paper.

The first full length book I wrote, called Manumit. Since the publication of The Spirit Trap, I know more what publishers are looking for, and so have revisited this book and am half way through a hefty edit. It is in a way a prequel to the Spirit Trap with similar paranormal themes and I didn't want to consign it to the back of a cupboard just yet.
