I am working on a book of a family from a shtetl in Ukraine/Poland who are somehow able to leave and escape a progrom by hiding along a major river to escape to a German seaport and make their way to post-civil war. Through New Orleans one son is set up by his uncle as a hardware drummer and heads west. Yes, it is fiction to a point and is based upon my great grandfather.

I would rather run from writing. But I feel a need to write things so I have been "writing" things down sine I was a kid.

I painted the cover painting for no reason. Then I needed to explain what the painting was about. I do have a degree in Journalism and I have enough college credits to have earned a BFA. So why not explain by writing it down.
