I tend to write multiple books at a time. This way if I'm stuck on one, I'll just work on another.

I look forward to everyday because I'm doing something I love.

I'm still working on that myself, but I would suggest lots of marketing and educating yourself on the business and how it's working for fellow authors.
Keep in mind that success in writing is like dieting. Trying to duplicate exactly what another author is doing doesn't exactly give you the same results.

I just finished the final editing for Unraveled.
Here's the summary I'm working on:
Two different women from two different worlds share one very important thing.
Eve has a successful event planning business in New York, a beautiful daughter and a doting husband who owns his own venture capital firm.
Christie turns to drug dealing after losing her tech job in San Francisco and falls hard for a guy who is the right hand man of a notorious gangster.
What do they have in common?
They’re both married to the same man.
Told in alternate voices, two women’s lives will unravel and what they do upon discovering one another will be unlike anything you could ever expect.

I like to read a lot and I love watching movies. I had a media studies class in college where we would watch old thriller movies from the 40s (so he could guarantee no one had seen it before) and we'd watch the first half. Then our assignment would be to guess the ending based on certain clues or foreshadowing. It forces you to think of all the possibilities no matter how crazy. It always blew my mind when the ending would have a great twist I didn't think of, but sometimes I'd find that I liked my version of the ending better.
Since then, every book or movie I watch I sort of play this game in my head to figure out how I could dissect it. Not only does it help me try to avoid writing anything too predictable, but it also helps inspire different story ideas for myself.

My new book Unraveled is about two women who have one thing in common. They are unknowingly married to the same man. I was trying to further develop another character for a different book and thought what if she found out her husband had another wife! Then I realized that would be a good book on it's own.
