What mystery in your own life could be a plot for a book?
Brenda H. Sedgwick I'm the daughter of very religious parents, both now passed on. I have always wondered or imagined what 'sins' they were covering up behind an unreal facade of perfection which their children were taught they should strive to attain.

How do you deal with writer’s block?
Brenda H. Sedgwick Sorry, I don't get it. I charge ahead writing when I get the space in my life and I love to brainstorm with other writers. I need a good editor because I can edit other peoples work, but never my own. that is my wekness.

What’s the best thing about being a writer?
Brenda H. Sedgwick Making up characters and escaping into their lives. Making friends and meeting people who are interested in writing.

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?
Brenda H. Sedgwick Enjoy your writing because marketing is going to be much harder work. Writing is for workers not dreamers.

What are you currently working on?
Brenda H. Sedgwick The Trinket Wife. As opposed to the trophy wife. Elizabeth is a capable wife with a talent for interior design. Her talent and abilities are not recognised as she is managed by her husband and his twin brother. The twins manipulate her over her inheritance. A new life awaits her. I hope to get the first draft finished in January.

How do you get inspired to write?
Brenda H. Sedgwick I need a little time and space for my imagination to run riot. I have developed my listening skills. I listen to anyone and then make up a story.

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?
Brenda H. Sedgwick My head always buzzes with ideas. I collect them from radio, newspapers and things my friends say. I hold onto them and see if they grow. Sometimes I help my students out if they are stuck. My new book came from a woman on radio who was made a joke of for thinking she could manage France on her own having never tried before. I thought it was brave to go and get lost and learn as she went. Mainly it does seem to be women that have problems with navigation. I know I do.
