Gloria Herrmann Sorry it has taken me forever to answer your question. You can bet your huckleberry scones there will be a book about Chelsea! I plan to write several more stories that will take place in Birch Valley and we'll revisit the lovely O'Brien family. I hope you enjoyed the series and I appreciate you writing to me. Thanks again and as always- Happy Reading! :)
Gloria Herrmann Hi Larry,

I will also be in Boise, ID and possibly Portland, OR in the fall of 2016. I will be headed over to the UK in 2018. If you visit www.gloriaherrmann.com there will be updates on where I will be. Gloria Herrmann Life inspires me, simple things really, like going grocery shopping or driving somewhere. You can find inspiration in so many things, people, places...the possibilities are endless. Take for example, waiting in line at a store, you have that moment when you can quietly watch and observe, these are the foundation of future potential characters. I like to catalog features, movements, combinations I might not have ever considered. A flaw here or personality trait I didn't think to include. Another form of inspiration is talking to other authors, I think sharing that excitement and love for what we do just encourages me to continue to hone my craft and to support others trying to do the same.
Gloria Herrmann The best thing about being a writer is being able to tell a story, to create a world of people, places, emotions, and ultimately to share this with people who love to read. Now as a writer, you usually tend to be a reader, it kind of goes hand in hand. So a perk of being a writer is giving something to fellow readers. I love the process of figuring out how the story is suppose to go, and love the element of surprise when writing and the characters take over...completely changing my intended route. I couldn't imagine doing anything else, I love being a writer!
Gloria Herrmann Some writer's are brave enough to admit they get the dreaded "writer's block" and it does happen. For the most part the problem I'm having is too many stories are cropping up and begging to be told. But I have had my case of the block, and I found that usually reading was an instant cure, it inspired me, challenged me to create a better story than the one I had just read. Movies are great to show a visual of a story and can help. Ultimately, if a writer catches that nasty writer's block, the best thing to do is be patient, if you are a writer, you will write again!
Gloria Herrmann Write. Just write. That is the only way you are ever going to become a writer, maybe even a good one. When composing a story, create a skeleton, add the muscle and meat, the life to it with simply writing. Editing is simply trimming the fat and putting on the make up.
Gloria Herrmann If having a book being released in October wasn't enough, I am also turning in the second installment to The Cloverleaf Series, Maggie's Marriage. I have a paranormal romance and some other really neat ideas that are on the back burner simmering.
Gloria Herrmann A large part of the inspiration behind this book and overall series comes from living in the beautiful area of rural eastern Washington state. The concept behind The Cloverleaf Series and Tales from Birch Valley is that family, community, and finding love are inter-connected. I love my family, my friends, my neighbors, and my hope was for this story to bring that feeling to my readers.
