Deborah Pardes Friendship with a therapist who was not a writer - that birthed this last book. The next book will probably be another non-fiction about people who have no kids. (I'm one of them) How to nurture the nurture inside you - where to put that love... it's a big conversation i've started to have with a lot of people. If you steal this idea, I'm going to have to kill you.
Deborah Pardes I stay away from the couch. I stay vertical and listen to conversations around me. I find out what needs to be said and then I say it backwards and forwards in my head. I feel purpose - and that inspired me to write.
Deborah Pardes I am writing notes from a fun-women show called DebTalk: Shoes worth Sharing. Words that will live inside my mouth and not on paper really excite me lately.
Deborah Pardes play with words. create cards with phrases and favorite words. throw them around. don't ever feel like a SERIOUS writer. stay buoyant and you will always flow into your next big rush of ideas.
Deborah Pardes I'm never without a next moment to dive into.
Deborah Pardes I've been a writing since I was very young. I started out creating lyrics - short versions of very long, deep thoughts. As I grew into my role as a professional writer I never lost touch with the power of a 3 minutes song. So much can be said in so little words. When I have writers block, I go back to creating images in my mind and them describing them in words. As the flow comes back, I realize that all writing is just the stringing together of words. Sounds simple ...because it is.
