Writing for me is very organic. It is not something that can be forced. So, when I'm not feeling it, I simply close my laptop and do something else. Usually, I just read. I love reading as much as I do writing. Reading a really great book that is exceptionally well written is quite possibly one of the best ways to pull yourself out of a slump.

I love connecting with the readers. When readers become invested in the story and characters, I feel connected with them even though I don't know them. It propels me to keep on writing.

Wow, this is tough because I'm so new myself. I guess I would say just go for it. It's hard to put yourself out there, especially with something that feels so personal. However, when you find your audience, readers who appreciate what you are doing, there is no better feeling. Just remember that your book won't appeal to everyone and that is okay.

The 3rd book in the Westbrook Series "Laws of Motion" is set to be published December 4th. I'm also finishing the rough draft of a new trilogy in the same series. The 4th book "Playlist" will be told from Avery & Kyle's POV.

Everything inspires me. People, places, events, personal experiences, observations. I suppose I am most inspired by emotions. I've always been a sensitive person who feels things pretty intensely. Channeling those emotions into my writing seems to be a more productive way of dealing with things.

Honestly, I was hanging out on my deck one day, enjoying the perfect spring weather, and I felt this overwhelming itch to write something. I took out my iPad & started writing this short story about teenagers. Writing on your iPad isn't the most practical way to write, but once I started, I couldn't stop. I eventually wised up and transferred my writing to my laptop. What started out as a short story turned into a book. Then, it just sort of became a series. I wasn't planning on sharing it with anyone at first, but my sister-in-law wanted to read it. So, I let her and she liked it so much that I decided to do something with it.
