Alan B. Gibson I don't really think of myself as a writer yet. I've only published one book, and that one was self-published. Ask me again when I have an agent and a publisher.
Alan B. Gibson It was originally started as a sequel to The Dead of Winter under the title, Rotten to the Core, but it evolved into a different story, but still the sequel.
Alan B. Gibson I've wanted to write fiction for decades. Apparently not enough to actually do it, however. I wrote The Dead of Winter as a screenplay for a movie which had been funded and unfunded two times. I knew I was eventually going to write the book version, and it took the demise of the movie to get me motivated to finish the book. Writing a book didn't require funding, and I didn't have to rely on anyone else. Just me.

Alan B. Gibson I'm currently working on another thriller. Now that I have one under my belt, I'm finding this one easier to write in many ways. I love my new plot. Part of it takes place on the Appalachian Trail, which will appeal to plenty of readers, I think. Another part ends up on Winter's Farm again, with some new insane characters, as well as a few favorites from The Dead of Winter.
Alan B. Gibson I don't have any yet. I've only written one book, and while people and critics like it, it's hardly a commercial success. Give me another year or two, and I might have advice.
Alan B. Gibson I don't want to think about it. It's like side effects for medications. I don't want to know about them, so I don't buy into them. By the way, I haven't had to take any medication for years, so it's a bit of a specious argument. Still, I don't want to conjure up writer's block.
