I'm currently reading "Martin Chuzzlewit" by Charles Dickens. He's one of my favorite authors (the other one is Tom Clancy when he was alive; not those writing under his name (new perspective on "ghost writer")). Charles Dickens is awesome, but he sure is long-winded!

I sometimes wonder what my estranged brother has been up to for the last forty years. Just considering the answer to your question prompts the imagination for a wide range of plots. If that was your intent by presenting the question, you have succeeded.

I would say that "The Wind and the Lion", with Sean Connery as Mulai Ahmed er Raisuli and Candice Bergen as Eden Pedecaris is my favorite fictional "couple". I value a smart, capable, and confident female lead that stands equal to the male lead, and where the male lead is masculine without being narcissistic.
Another example of this dynamic would be "Sahara" (the movie, not the book; I don't favor Clive Cussler's writing), with Matthew McConaughey as Dirk Pitt and Penelope Cruz as Dr. Eva Rojas. Steve Zahn as Al Giordino is also excellent as Dirk's sidekick.

My most recent published work is "Vengeance Quest", which is a sequel to "Caribbean Gauntlet". It seemed like a natural progression of the storyline, and resolves some issues from the previous work (though you need not read them sequentially).

Set the work aside, and 'change channels'. Go to the park, socialize with friends, have a glass of wine. This will 'clear the cobwebs' and refresh you. Think outside the box, from a different perspective. When you come back to your work, you may be surprised at the positive result.

Language can be magical, musical, instructional, and entertaining. I enjoy the act of writing, and creating worlds of the imagination. I learn much from the research I do, and believe that one should never lose that curiosity.

Writing is fun. If you're self-published, however, the marketing and promotion side can be overwhelming. Never give up. Explore everything. Accept constructive criticism gracefully, and learn from it; ignore 'flame' criticism.
As Amelia Earhart said, "The most difficult thing is the decision to act, the rest is merely tenacity."

I've always enjoyed writing. I'm inspired by stories and topics that interest me, and which I believe will interest others. I often choose topics that need to be addressed, such as the drug trade and its impact on humanity. However, not all of my topics are 'heavy'. Adventure stories can be fun, and when it comes to poetry anything goes!
