Just do it!
My biggest regret is not pursuing writing throughout high school and college. It's easy to get distracted by life, but if you can dedicate at least one hour a day to writing, you will find how much you can grow and sharpen your skills. Self-discipline is everything. I used to play video games for two hours every night before bedtime, but now use that time to read and write!!

I am currently working on my second book, Insanity. This book will follow an average Joe through life and its many issues like job problems, friendship problems, and relationship issues to the point of him reaching his boiling point.
As a survivor of one of America's largest mass shootings at the Aurora Movie theater, I followed the trial closely, and became fascinated with the process that goes behind trying to prove someone as mentally insane. This book looks to tackle that issue in a sense. It seems we have a debate in this country between insanity and guns, but no one ever wants to discuss that the issue behind our violence touches on both matters, not just one.
Insanity will shed some light on the internal battle people go through before snapping, as well as the ease they have to purchase weapons used as killing machines.

I typically write late at night, after my wife and daughter have gone to sleep. Being able to leave some sort of legacy behind, no matter how big or small, for my kids and family, is something that really gets me in the mood to write, no matter how tired I am feeling. When the house is quiet, it really allows for my thoughts to flow, and my mind to dream big things!

The idea for Followed Home actually was a dream I had. Obviously, the dream wasn't as long or detailed as the book, but the main plot of these gray men with some sort of super powers taking over my hometown happened. And my grandmother really did hunt these beings and pulled out all kinds of guns and gadgets to fend them off. There is also a scene that took place in my middle school at the time that you will read in the book (the most graphic part of the book, in my opinion!).
I started writing it back then when I was 12...put it away for many years and recently decided to move forward and finish it, which included doing a whole rewrite and editing, and further plot and character development, allowing the story to take on a life of its own and build on from the dream I had.
