Rejections are tough. They can beat you and beat you, make you think that you're just not good enough. If you have a story brewing inside you that you just can't let go of, don't.

With all that being said, don't be arrogant. Yes, you may have a unique and brilliant idea for a story but like any craft, it takes time, effort, and revision.

Write the books you want to read.
Don't write to fit trends, set them.
Cristina Slough Right now, I'm working on my second novel. It's about a woman that fakes her own death to escape from her abusive husband.

A common theme in my writing is exploring emotions of women. I do tend to write about angst and heartbreak. I love writing about raw emotion.

If I can make a reader feel, my job is done.

I love exploring other worlds and delving into my characters mind and heart. I love becoming their voice.

For me, when I'm writing my senses are heightened. I see more, feel more, smell more, and taste more, because my mind is putting together words that will hopefully make readers tune into my vision.
