It is definitely the 2nd book in the series, as Demorn escapes from the Grave Dimension, where she tried (unsuccessfully) to resurrect her dead girlfriend's soul. Together, Demorn and her fellow Innocents flee into the Serpent Dungeon on their way back to Babelzon, the future city where Demorn leads the Innocents, a band of mercenaries and thieves!
I would always advise readers to definitely grab a copy of Book One to check it out (and I keep it priced at 99 cents so it's an easy buy!) but you can jump in at Book two if you really want to! :)
And you can always go back and check out the first one and see how Demorn got to the Grave Dimension in the first place!
