It is definitely the 2nd book in the series, as Demorn escapes from the Grave Dimension, where she tried (unsuccessfully) to resurrect her dead girlfriend's soul. Together, Demorn and her fellow Innocents flee into the Serpent Dungeon on their way back to Babelzon, the future city where Demorn leads the Innocents, a band of mercenaries and thieves!

I would always advise readers to definitely grab a copy of Book One to check it out (and I keep it priced at 99 cents so it's an easy buy!) but you can jump in at Book two if you really want to! :)

And you can always go back and check out the first one and see how Demorn got to the Grave Dimension in the first place!

Two years is a long time for an Innocent. Babelzon, her city, is burning. Demorn's patron is now at the mercy of the City Council he once owned. The Clubhouse is surrounded and Demorn is a myth that only some believe in.

Demorn's ruby heart is cold, the holy blade of Xalos unable to spawn for her. Old friends have fallen or are trapped. Demorn can see the bones of Ultimate Fate in the sky and the Tyrant oversees all.

Poisoned by the locket of a death god, every desperate deal Demorn has ever made will be called to account. She must save fellow Innocents from the depths of the Repeater Mall and the tricks of her enemies. She must save her brother from gazing too deep into the ruins of Asanti.
