As a writer, I'm always looking to make sense of things. The concept behind Settling Down is no exception. The idea for my novel initially grew out of the sadness and frustration I felt from watching a slew of otherwise amazingly intelligent, self-sufficient, beautiful women buy into the concept that it's better to be with someone, anyone, than to be alone. I saw them not only give up their sense of self, but mold themselves into situations in order to survive, instead of thrive.

But why would they do this? And more importantly, how can we stop it?
Those are the questions I wanted to explore.
