The idea for my novel initially grew out of the sadness and frustration I felt from watching a slew of otherwise amazingly intelligent, self-sufficient, beautiful women buy into the concept that it's better to be with someone, anyone, than to be alone. I saw them not only give up their sense of self, but mold themselves into situations in order to survive, instead of thrive.

Ugh. Blek. Also file under: Do Not Do This At Home.

But why would they do this? And more importantly, how can we stop it?

Those are the questions I wanted to explore.
