Hi Dyrk. Just a quick note to say I received the hardcopy books from the kickstarter and boy do they look shiny. Since I must ask a question here, have you recovered from the kickstarter yet and are you ready for War of Gods kickstarter yet?

I adored the first 2 books of this series, so damn good. I have the audio versions so my question is does anyone know if or when War of Gods will be getting an audio release? Best of wishes & many thanks for your wonderful books.
Dyrk Ashton Hi Lyle! I'm so happy you like the books, thank you! The audiobook for War of Gods is produced and has just been approved to go up in Audible. It should appear there any day now. Wow! Just read that you are planning another trilogy that takes places 15 years after Paternus?? So cool! Paternus was brilliant and so amazing. I bought the trilogy in paperback, but would love hardcover copies if they become available.
Dyrk Ashton Hi Lorraine! I'm glad you like the idea of another series. First will be four to six books in a series about 20 years previous, then that new trilogy.

On the same day I saw Mark Lawrence review Paternus, I also saw a review on Novel Notions on the third in the series. I try to recognize the hints life gives me...I'm supposed to read this series. That said, I am definitely more of a hardback book guy. I wanted to see whether the series is in hardback or if they are all paperback? The limited places I've found the first book are all in paperback. Thanks!
Dyrk Ashton Hi Phil! Very sorry I'm just seeing this. For some reason Goodreads doesn't send me notifications of new questions.

Last November I ran a Kickstarter for hardbacks of book 1 and it went incredibly well, so I now have hardbacks of book 1. I'll be running two more Kickstarters for hardbacks of books 2 and 3, the first later this summer or early fall.

Hello from Athens Greece! It's been a long time since there was such a prototypical idea in fantasy. Please write another another 20 trilogies of Paternus! Or one at least? Thank you.
Dyrk Ashton Thank you Spiros! The plan after Book 3 comes out in May is to write a 4 to 6 book series, shorter books and more "standard" urban fantasy, but that takes place in the same world as Paternus, 20 years earlier. After that I'd like to do another trilogy that takes place ~15 years in the future of the current trilogy.

What are you planning on writing once Paternus is completed?
Dyrk Ashton Hi A.M.! Thank you for asking. The plan of late is a series of 5 or 6 shorter, more straightforward UF novels with the story taking place 20 years prior to the events of the Paternus trilogy. Though they are set in the same world of Paternus, and will feature cameos by some of the characters in the trilogy, they will be complete stand-alones.

Dyrk Ashton Hi Mark! I'm honored you would ask. I'd be happy to take a look, but I must be honest and say my TBR mountain is very high and it could be quite a long time before I get to it. I have some books I'm a year or more behind on at this point.

A fellow thespian from Ohio ! Excellent ! Obviously I will be searching for both Paternus books to read. And I will forgive you being of Campbell blood only because you killed English ;) and of course... having Bruce Campbell among your ranks. How does a country boy from Ohio rise up to become an author and where did the idea for your books spring from? Do you have any tips for aspiring authors in Ohio?
Dyrk Ashton Hi Emelia! I've been writing since I was very young and always wanted to complete a novel. When I finally had the time, I just went for it. These says it doesn't matter where your from, New York, London or the Midwest of the U.S., good books spring from everywhere. My ideas come from everything I've read, watched and experienced over the years, my obsession with mythology and storytelling, all corrupted by an overactive imagination :)

Dyrk Ashton Sloth and turtle are friends, they would never fight, except over who got to pour the next cup of tea. Slowly.

I'm writing books two and three at the same time, so end of the year is the plan for book one and Summer 2018 for book three. Thank you for asking :)

Dyrk Ashton Sloths are calm, cool, collected. Baby sloths are the cutest creature ever. All things I am not. Besides, I hear they are all the rage with Greek fantasy book reviewers, and I idolize those.
