A young love, a possible child, but then it ends and the trail is lost. What happened? What happens 50 years later?

I'm reading Coral Island (R M Ballantyne ) again 60 years later. I'd go there, as it was for those boys.

I don't really have a 'summer reading list'; I just keep chipping away at the pending pile I already have. Next up, 15 Dogs.

Aiming to publish in June. Might be end of June. 😧
The problem is not compromising quality for a deadline.
On the other hand, I'm never really satisfied with my manuscripts. I have to keep reminding myself that perfection is the enemy of the good. But is it good enough??

Never thought about this before. I think more about the principal character, and perhaps the main protagonist.
But what immediately comes to mind is Tom Sawyer and Becky Thatcher. Even though exaggerated Mark Twain perfectly captured the twelve-year-old male mind trying to catch the girl's attention. And her assiduously ignoring him, yet we know she is paying attention, until finally they come together as Tom assuages her fears while overcoming his own. Nice story.

I've just published my first 'non-professional' book, The Maxim Chronicles, a memoir about my dog, and I'm now working on the sequel, The Hallelujah Chorus.

Ideas in my areas of interest just float around in my head. But they don't really emerge until I sit down and start to type. I've discovered what many writers before me advise: devote a few hours every day and just write.

2017 May I published The Maxim Chronicles in August of last year; it had languished for 13 years before I resurrected it and drove it to the finish line. I'm now working on the sequel, The Hallelujah Chorus, due out next month. Both books are about my champion Standard Poodles and their transition from show dogs to family pets. Both started as serial blogs but became books once I figured out the self-publishing world. and overcame my own modesty.
2016 June The Dynamics of Management incubated for about ten years. It was first a companion manual for my management development clients. Then with urging from one of my colleagues I turned the manual into this book.
