D. O'Brien I don't do a lot of reading when I have locked myself away writing, and at the moment my head is firmly grounded in the early 1800's in Ireland and England but if I was to pick something up to read I would probably choose any of the great stories from Giammatteo Giacomo, everything he writes is a good read. Also Greg Dunnett has a new novel out too and I am sure it would be worth picking up if it is half as good as Wave at Hanging Rock.
D. O'Brien I guess the one real mystery would be.... like, why on earth would a sensible, level-headed, intelligent etc etc woman take up with a younger good-looking, fast talking, back-packing Austrian bloke and then do nothing while he slowly bled her of everything she owned and had worked a lifetime for, including all of her real estate. Sound familiar?
D. O'Brien Hmm. I guess it would have to be Miss Bennett and Mr Darcy, they are such an inspiration on so many levels. And, because I am such a romantic.
D. O'Brien I've always been one for the underdog. All those strays I brought home to mend as a child (much to Mums delight). There is something to be said of a need (or want) to shine a light, for a moment, on those who hide in the shadows, reaping their way through the crowds of the vulnerable who come their way, and the popular form of human trade they glean their income from.
D. O'Brien It's not something I've suffered from very often, but I would take it as a sign I need a break, even if it means not switching the laptop on for a week, and getting out for some fresh air and new faces. I don't mind a little bit of yoga here and there also.
D. O'Brien Honestly, if the urge to write is undeniable, I would say to trust yourself and just begin something, even a diary would get you going on the right track.
D. O'Brien I write because I enjoy it so much, I don't need any other inspiration than that.
D. O'Brien Something set in the 1800's
