It's a hard question to answer without sounding odd, but I was drawn to the story and it felt like I had written it before.

With three daughters, who at the time of writing his first book were fourteen, twelve and nine, I started to write fictional stories to bring my insights of our journey through life to them and other children. I have written Heng Mountain to introduce the subtle system of Wing Chun and the body's natural healing process to young people. I hope that after reading Heng Mountain children will also be inspired to find something which they can study with their own 'Kung Fu', which means a skill developed through great dedication and hard work.

Song Mountain, it's the sequel to Heng Mountain.

Write, and then write some more. Let your ideas flow, but most importantly, write about something you love and not just something you know. Also, trying and write it in away that will appeal to the largest audience.

Showing other people your imagination and telling them through a story what your values and beliefs are. Heng Mountain could be anyone's journey. Someone recently asked if it was mine, I said no at first, but actually it does show how I have grown as a person in my life.
I first found a martial art I was drawn, Wing Chun, and a natural healing process, Jikiden Reiki, that I needed to find.

If I found it hard to write, I would quite often go back to the start of the story and read it as if I hadn't read it before. The ideas for the last few chapters would come to me and I would also find something to add in the beginning of the story that would be interesting and help the story flow to the end.
I would also sit alone, close my eyes and see the story unfold in front of me. Choosing to see it from a different character each time would definitely help me to do this.
