Brian Pendergast I have a cup of coffee, throw on some music, and drive. I also like to build things. I immerse myself in another project. Once that project is done, I can get back to writing.
Brian Pendergast You have an excuse for daydreaming. I also like to develop my characters, and add a little part of me in them.
Brian Pendergast Write. Then, once you have it written find a editor. Listen to what he/she says. I rewrote my book several times. Plus write what you are interested about. I have several interests, and I want to write about all of those interests.
Brian Pendergast I'm working on part two of The PTSD Experiment. I'm also working on a story about two young kids that are lost in a huge city. I want to make that a ya story. I have a children's story that I'm considering adding it to my website for people to just read. Not everything I write has to be published and made into a actual book. Let me know if you agree. If I get enough interest then I will for sure add it to my website in the children's section.
Brian Pendergast When I was younger I had a hard time sleeping. In order for me to fall asleep I would make up stories in my head. These stories would help me fall asleep. Later on I would write them down, but throw them away. Then one day I had a dream, and thought I would make that into a story. I published it, and that became my first book. That was a children's book. My inspiration can come from music, or something that happened in the past. Sometimes something would just pop into my mind, and I would think that would make a great story.
Brian Pendergast When I was in Iraq the Army gave me a bottle of anti-malaria drugs. They forced us to take it. If we refused, we would have been in serious trouble. When taking it, they would look in our mouths to make sure we took it. Toward the end of taking the drugs they told us to stop taking it. They order stuck in my head for a long time. I researched it after a couple of years and found that the drug caused psychological adverse affects on people. I thought what if the government decided to develop a anti-PTSD drug, and what would happen if they did.
