How do you get inspired to write?

Brian Pendergast When I was younger I had a hard time sleeping. In order for me to fall asleep I would make up stories in my head. These stories would help me fall asleep. Later on I would write them down, but throw them away. Then one day I had a dream, and thought I would make that into a story. I published it, and that became my first book. That was a children's book. My inspiration can come from music, or something that happened in the past. Sometimes something would just pop into my mind, and I would think that would make a great story.
