Probably the spirit of this question is 'romantic couple' and since it's Goodreads, probably also in literature. However, technically it only asks the question doesn't specify on either count. So my choice is a platonic couple, from film. C-3PO and R2-D2 from Star Wars. Their dynamic is so rich, even though one of them can't even communicate verbally. Great pair of buddies .

Heh. My mom--who is an oil painter--once told me that writer's (or painter's) block is for amateurs--that the pros can't afford that luxury.
But the truth is it happens, and it's awful. I'm sure there are plenty of writers who get stuck worse than I do, but there's definitely been times when I've spent two weeks just staring at the blinking cursor, sure that anything I churn out will be complete rubbish. Eventually I just double my coffee dose and say to myself: "if it's rubbish, so be it. I've got to write something."

I think it's a bit of a misconception that ideas suddenly flash into author's minds in one single instant--I think the very kernel of the idea for Palindrome was from a dream, but then 99% of the rest of the idea came after I sat down and started writing
