Aleigha Siron I had no idea where the second book would come from. My publisher wanted me to carry through using chapters removed from my first book, but a story kept niggling at my brain about Andra's parents (from finding My Highlander) took center stage as I completed edits on book one. It took a few months to get the flow, but once it started I knew I needed to write their story.
Aleigha Siron I wish I could say it's just a matter of wanting inspiration. Sometimes inspiration comes from surprising sources. A comment overheard, a phrase read, a moving sunset. Inspiration exists everywhere. The writer must allow the magic to enter in moments of silence.
Aleigha Siron I'm working on book three in the Finding My Highland Series. Allthough it's moving slowly, because a considerable amount of research is necessary for the third book, I'm already enthralled with where the story is taking me. It will take the series full circle and characters from earlier books will make appearances.
Aleigha Siron This can not be said enough. Read, read, read. And then write. Write. with abandon.
Write for the joy of words and scenes on the page. Write for the journey of discovery. Write because there is no option to not write.
Aleigha Siron Aside from occasional moments of doubt or frustration, I love the creative process, the research for content and the desire to enchant my audience.
Aleigha Siron For some reason I was not seeing my dashboard. All fixed now so these answers are late. Sorry for the delay.
Witers's block is always difficult and lately I've hit that hard wall a few times. When it seems insurmountable, I write other things, poetry, lists of things to go into next work, lists of words, etc. Sometimes I fiddle with blog ideas but in the throes of block they usually feel flat too. Poetry frequently spurs me out of the doldrums.
