Two things inspire me to write: True events and everyday people who display integrity, passion, loyalty and character while dealing with adversity. Because of this I find it easy to come up with a believable story and believable characters. In the process of blending true events with the characters of real people from time to time I have to remind myself it's all made up; I write thrillers and it's fiction. When I remember this I find myself just writing and letting the characters take me where they want to go.
An additional buffer to writer's block is for me to keep in mind when I'm down-loading the story from my head to the keyboard, it's a draft. If something needs to get straightened out it will happen in the editing process.
