Chloe Flowers No, Tiffany, I haven' written a historical romance novel; mine are based further east...from Charleston S.C. to Jamaica! I love pirates, privateers and the clear blue of the Caribbean ocean, which are harder to find out west.

Thanks for your question!

Chloe Flowers I start a new project. I carry mini notepads with me, in my car, in every purse and bag I own in every bathroom...when I get an idea, I write it down. If one story stalls, I work on another. I noticed that when I outline my book's plot and character arcs, I don't get writer's block.
Chloe Flowers Finishing a book gives me a great sense of accomplishment. Finishing the outline of the next one boosts my confidence. Hearing from readers makes me happy. :0)
Chloe Flowers The advice I have for writers is the same advice I give my young volleyball players and my kids: NEVER STOP LEARNING. The more you learn and practice the craft of writing, the better writer you become. Take workshops, go to conferences, join a writers' group and a critique group, or find a critique partner. Stay involved in the writing community.

HONE IT TO OWN IT.
Chloe Flowers I'm working on the answer to this "what if" question:

* What if a pirate captain was kidnapped by a nun?

I'd love to hear your answer to that one! I'm having a riot plotting it out.
Chloe Flowers I love playing movie clips in my head at night before I fall asleep. I get some of my best ideas then and it all starts out with a "what if" question.

*What if a young lady from England was brought to a Charleston plantation and was about to be forced into a marriage of convenience with another plantation owner? What kind of schemes would she cook up to get out of it?
(Hart's Desire Book #1)

*What if a pirate kidnapped the young twin siblings of a destitute band of brothers, sisters and cousins and in order to get the children back, they had to pose as pirates, steal a merchant ship full of cargo and sail it to Jamaica?
(Pirate Heiress Book #4)
Chloe Flowers HART'S REWARD
I knew Landon and Keelan's story wouldn't be finished until they were actually able to be married. I started to wonder what kind of sea captain Landon was before he met Keelan. What if he was indeed a rake of the highest order and in order to protect his heart, used women as a fleeting form of entertainment--seduce them and move on. The only way he'd ever let us see that part of him is if he forgot about Keelan...

My youngest son got a concussion a few years ago and lost his memory for a while. Thankfully, it all eventually returned except for the day of the accident. Those days were terrifying for both my son and me. I was able to draw from the experience when I wrote Hart's Reward.
