Currently working on a new mystery series. Something I've always wanted to do is to create an ensemble cast of characters that work together yet are separate entities with their own stories. A series like this is a perfect way for them to interact. The first book in the series should be ready in late 2016 and promises to be a fun read with interesting and likable characters!

Have fun with it. If you can't enjoy doing it, then you're doing it wrong. Learn about the craft of story telling as much as possible. Join a writers group in person and/or online. Everyone has a story, it's the way we tell it that makes us unique and the only way to hone that ability is to practice telling it. Write some short stories and have your friends and family read it and give you feedback.

I grew up in a small town in Northeastern Oklahoma, basically, in the foothills of the Ozark Mountains. I loved to hear the stories that my elders would tell. Being Cherokee, our stories are very important to us, it's the way we know and understand each other, it's the way we connect to our ancestors. I have a robust imagination and it is easy for me to find inspiration in every story I hear.

I walk away from the project and try to do other things for a while. When I'm ready, it usually takes care of itself. It's just a matter of renewing my imagination through various activities.
