Lol, Sybil! I'm writing as fast as I can, believe me. In fact, there's a new one out today, Stranger at the Villa. And have you read all my novellas, which are free to subscribers of my mailing list? There's one companion novella for each series, and a stand-alone. If you don't have them yet, hop over to my website at marykingswood.co.uk to sign up.

I'm such a stickler for historical accuracy, especially titling errors, and I've criticised authors for not getting it right, so it would be hypocritical of me not to own up to my own errors.
As to being obliged to make corrections, I will always try to fix errors in my own books, and I've already corrected The Widow, but it's not always easy to do. Being self-published, I can upload a new version of an ebook or paperback very easily, but many of my books now have an audio version, and making changes to those once they're live is not easy (or cheap!). For any author with a regular publisher, there's no way they will agree to changes, unfortunately. In those cases, all an author can do is to learn from their mistake, and try to get things right in future books.

This is a great question! I can't judge comparisons to my own books - I'm just too close to them. As for Jane Austen and Georgette Heyer, well, nobody quite writes like either of them. But there are a few authors who have something of their characteristics.
For that sparkling dialogue that GH was so famous for, I've enjoyed books by Alissa Baxter, Joyce Harmon and Jan Jones. For something very close to the writing style of Jane Austen, I love the Regency murder mysteries of Anna Dean (if you like Agatha Christie's Miss Marple, it's a Regency version of that). I don't read much Jane Austen fan fiction but one I enjoyed that captured the language perfectly was Clara Benson's The Lucases of Lucas Lodge (her other books are Christie-era murder mysteries, but this is a straightforward Regency romance).
You can read reviews of these on my website, and they're also on Goodreads under my real name (Pauline M Ross).
I hope you enjoy The Companion - only a little over two weeks until release day!

It goes all the way to book 5. There's a bit of progress in each book, but the final resolution is in book 5 (Lord Gilbert). I realise that's a bit frustrating - sorry!

Hi Stacy! I call myself an author of 'traditional Regency romances'. That means that they are firmly rooted in the historical era of the Regency in Britain (1811-1820). Nothing to do with a brand.
