Laura E. Thompson I do not force myself to stick to a strict writing schedule. I like the writing to flow naturally. If I sit down with the intention of writing a chapter but nothing is happening then I try writing a blog or reading or I go back and edit something that I wrote previously. In my mind, it is all related to practicing your craft, so it is all helpful. Then I try writing another time when I am relaxed and the story is flowing without my pushing it.
Laura E. Thompson I love sharing my friends and their world with others and spreading positive messages with the world. There is a lot of negativity out there, I like being someone that spreads positive messages instead.
Laura E. Thompson Never give up. Writing is not simple or easy, but if you are passionate about telling your story and you believe in yourself, you should continue to follow your dream. Research the industry a little to know what type of publishing would work best for you and then, despite any negativity just keep trying.
Laura E. Thompson I recently finished the third book in the Elven Quest series. I will be starting the reviewing and editing process on that soon, while at the same time, I will be going through my blog and other online profiles and trying to improve their user friendliness.
Laura E. Thompson Inspiration can be all around us, politics, music, history, science, religion, current events, anything can inspire a story line or characters. The tricky part is taking the time to turn those things into a novel.
Laura E. Thompson The inspiration came from a few places. The story begins in a small town where everyone knows everyone else, that came from the town that I grew up in. The feelings and emotions of the main character are reflective memories of what I went through as a teenager. The magic and story line of the elves and elements came from reading and thinking about the differences between other novels that I read. I started thinking about if I was going to write a story about elves and magic what would I want to read about and my story and characters started talking to me. I wrote their story.
