I read, I play video games, I listen to music. I look at sci-fi art. I people watch and observe the world around me.
Sometimes all these things come together and I will have an actual dream that inspires a story. I will then sit with that dream, daydream about it, turn it around in my mind and see if the characters and plot stick.

I get blocked when I'm trying to craft the 'perfect' scene. I remind myself that there is no such thing as perfect, art is subjective. But when I'm really stuck, I just start outlining and jotting notes of what I want to happen.
I find that within a page of notes, I'm back into writing the story again. It takes persistence and patience.

I actually saw a sci-fi drawing online, and it resonated with me. The character jumped out and I just knew I had to write her story. I had to explain how she'd gotten to the point in the picture.

I am editing Shadow Stalking, book two in The Shadow Trilogy. I'm also in the process of writing Shadow Exposed, the conclusion to the trilogy.
