Holden R. Johnson Hey Jody,

Sorry I didn't see this question until 2 days late!

I have plans for three books, with the story all outlined and ready to go. That being said, It's highly likely it will end up being four books. It entirely depends on the space needed to tell the tale in the best way possible =)

There are lots of people, places, and events that need to be shown and given page time, as well as lots of mysteries that need to be revealed!
Holden R. Johnson Characters came first. For some reason I always write this way. I envision people, their personalities, what drives them, then build a situation, goal, scenario around them and then the world takes shape. It's almost a magical experience, for me, writing this way. I've spent months before shaping and building this world, only to find that I didn't have quite the right stuff to put in it. I've found that doing the opposite way really helps with my creativity.

The world building will come, of course, just later in the process. At least, that's what works best for me =)

Great question James. Thank you!
Holden R. Johnson Good question!

I would honestly probably spend a day with Gavin Guile from Brent Weeks Lightbringer series, in his prime of course. I feel like he would be a fun, hilarious, friend with all the influence in the world. Couldn't ask for a better friend than the most powerful man in the world, right?

If it were solely my book, I would spend a day with Ferin in the Desertlands of Heggoth. Not only is their culture so interesting to write, but It would be an awesome thing to experience. He is a prince, where his father is worshiped as a god. Sounds like a great day to me! =D
Holden R. Johnson I think it's because I have read so many amazing books that I just had to create one of my own. I had so many ideas for worlds, characters, different settings and it just sort of happened. I fell in love with writing just in the same way that I love reading.
Holden R. Johnson I try really hard to avoid letting my writing become "work". I am a creative being by nature, yet if I let the work aspects of writing a novel overpower that, then I lose some of that and end up just putting up numbers for the sake of numbers. Of course there are deadlines and other things that come into play, but it's the mindset that matters.
