Great question! In 2013, when I was living in Perth, Western Australia, I lived in the suburb of 'Bassendean.' This name stuck with me while I was writing the second draft of 'Queen Kaianan' and within a year or two after the conceptualisation of the Kaianan series and the Siliou universe was complete, the name lingered.
I played around with the lettering, finding something that rolled off the tongue and suited a name, and thus Rassendean was born.
