D.J. Cowdall I do my own washing, and I would like to know what keeps happening to the odd socks?! That would definitely make a book.
D.J. Cowdall Shelly woke up to the sound of thunder, as rain crawled across the windows. She shivered, the horror of it, as she realized she had to go to work in it.
D.J. Cowdall I would probably go anywhere that HG Wells' Time Machine took me, because then I could go back in time and forward perhaps, and meet some interesting characters.
D.J. Cowdall Tom Hanks, Uncommon Type. Reading it in between writing. I'd like to read Dostoevsky's House of the Dead again, because it's very itneresting and I enjoyed it so much before.
D.J. Cowdall Everything around me inspires me to write, because I'm always asking myself would that be good to write about. I did a lot of reading growing up, specially pulp fiction comics, horror mainly, and they gave me quite a lot of inspiration for what I do now.
I love films too, and so am quite a visual writer, so when I see a particular scene or hear something in a film, I do tend to get ideas of what next.
I have hundreds of ideas for novels, and just love doing it. So as they say if you enjoy doing something, you do tend to do it well.
At least, I hope I do it well. Only my readers will know that!
D.J. Cowdall A novel about a dog. No idea what gave me the inspiration to write it, but I have a dog and he is a lot like the dog in this novel, brown, smelly and always hungry. It will be around 40,000 words and on sale shortly.
D.J. Cowdall I'll let you know if and when it ever happens. Write anything, even if it's rubbish, because eventually you'll find your groove.
D.J. Cowdall You fulfill your own dreams, make your own realities, and create characters that you love, good or bad, that stem from you and behave as you may never do.
Being a writer means you can live out any dream, any fantasy, you don't have to wait for someone else to write it, you can do it instead, any time.
I do live my novels, all of them.
D.J. Cowdall Just write, and stick to what you enjoy. With fiction it's not always about what you know, because if you don't know what you're writing about it's a great opportunity to go out and learn about it. You grow as a person from doing that. The main thing is to write, write, write, and keep going, as long as you enjoy it, that matters most.
D.J. Cowdall The most recent book that I am writing now is about a dog, and I got the inspiration from the book and film, A Dog's Purpose. It's not anything to do with that story, but I felt inspired to write it because of that.
